Corey Kluber - We're going to fade Greinke tonight as we don't think he's getting enough K's to justify the price tag. Kluber's 3.44 ERA doesn't tell the whole story as his 9.87 K/9 and 1.04 WHIP are still elite. Kluber also gets a matchup with a Twins lineup that he has thrown two consecutive complete games against. In those starts Kluber has allowed only 2 earned runs while striking out 17.
Yordano Ventura - This a boom or bust play as Ventura has shown multiple flashes of brilliance, but has just as often struggled with control. We're going to bet that we get the good Yordano tonight. Ventura always brings elite K potential and the Mariners have the 4th highest K-rate in the league vs RHP at 21.8%. If Ventura can limit the walks we see him having a very productive outing.
Anthony Rendon - After an injury-plagued start to the year Rendon has finally started to look like the player who placed 5th in 2014 NL MVP race. In the past month Rendon has hit a healthy .319 to go along with 4 homers. He also gets a great matchup with Chris Tillman who's had a brutal season and has given up 3 or more earned runs in each of his last 6 starts.
Todd Frazier - Frazier has slumped a bit in the second half, but that's brought his price down considerably. Frazier appears to have regained his power stroke as he's homered 5 times in the past 2 weeks. He also gets a matchup with Lance Lynn who has struggled greatly in 3 September starts.
Chris Coghlan - We like the chance for cheap production here as Coghlan routinely finds himself in the middle of the red hot Cubs order vs RHP. We also like the matchup with rookie Zach Davies who has struggled to a 6.00 ERA in 4 Major League starts.
Jay Bruce - Your BvP Play of the Day: Bruce is 14/31 with 6 extra-base hits, including 3 HR's, vs Lance Lynn in his career.
